Uptown Bay City
- Location: Bay City, Michigan
- Construction Value: $50M
- Client: City of Bay City, Michigan
Project Description:
ROWE worked with a developer to develop the old bay aggregate site into Uptown Bay City, a vibrant multi-use area. Over the next few years, the approximately 2,000 feet of Saginaw River frontage will be transformed into a walkable riverfront community, including medical facilities, housing, office spaces, a hotel, retail shops, entertainment, parks, a marina, and civic facilities.
The proposed riverfront includes the construction of a public river walk that will eventually connect the riverfront park in front of Breaker Cove to the south of the site and Wenonah Park to the north of the site.
The initial phase of the project included:
- Site permitting
- Construction of the anchor tenant buildings
- Public utilities
- Mass grading
- Public road
- Northerly parking lot construction
The project was awarded the 2015 Engineering Merit Award, from the American Council of Engineering Companies – Michigan. Click here to see the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality's video about the property's amazing transformation.
