Position Summary

ROWE is currently looking for a Planning Intern to join our Flint, MI office. Intern duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Review development applications for consistency with zoning ordinance standards.
  • Support in community engagement efforts for development of plans and strategies.
  • Work with Department Lead to review/refine internal processes and checklists.
  • Support zoning administration services for select clients, including completing filing and reviews of applications.
  • Attend public meetings with other staff to gain experience.

Job Requirements

Position Summary

ROWE is currently looking for Surveying Interns for all our Michigan and South Carolina offices. We have opportunities to work with conventional surveying and photogrammetry tools and software as well as stationary, mobile and UAV LiDAR systems and software. Interns will work under the supervision of a Project Surveyor, Crew Chief or Project Manager. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Interns will assist in field data collection and construction layout of various projects
  • Assist in completing various surveying tasks
  • Must be willing to work outdoors on project sites as needed

Job Requirements

  • Potential candidates must be pursuing an associates, bachelor’s or master’s degree in surveying, civil engineering or a related field

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Summary

Municipal Senior Project Engineer

ROWE Professional Services Company has an excellent opportunity for a Municipal Senior Project Engineer to join our growing team and expanding Design Services Division at our Myrtle Beach, SC office.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

Project Engineers work on teams with Project Managers, working in a group environment on a diverse range of large and small-scale projects. Providing creative leadership to a wide range of staff with varied experience. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct research and development for residential subdivisions
  • Provide master planning/site layout for residential subdivisions and land development projects
  • Prepare calculations and reports as related to the design of water, wastewater, and stormwater drainage
  • Prepare state/local permits for land disturbance, water, and wastewater
  • Provide quality control for the design team to ensure technical accuracy, conformance to project requirements, and overall constructability
  • Cross-functional collaboration

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience
  • PE preferred, or EIT certified, with the ability to obtain your PE license within 2 years of employment
  • Knowledge of AutoCad Civil 3D
  • Experience with MicroStation a plus
  • Experience with ICPR a plus
  • Familiarity with SCDOT, AASHTO, AREMA, and other design criteria/specifications a plus
  • SCDOT experience a plus
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent analytical/judgement capabilities, and ability to work independently or on a team
  • Ability to work remote and in person effectively

Landscape Architect

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

Landscape Architects lead teams and manage projects while working in a group environment on a diverse range of large- and small-scale projects. Providing creative leadership to a wide range of staff with varied experience. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing and manage projects including parks, streetscapes, public spaces, and site plan preparation for retail, residential or office developments.
  • Providing presentation-quality graphics for project marketing and presentations.
  • Developing construction documents, including planting plans, Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control documents and permits.
  • Providing site observation during construction.
  • Managing staff, budgets, and schedules.
  • Maintaining and building client relationships.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture and a minimum of 10 years of related experience.
  • Michigan Professional Landscape Architect License along with LEED accreditation.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and experience with Sketch-up, M-color, and Microsoft products is preferred.
  • Experience with MDNR, MNRTF and Passport grant applications, MEDC, and TAP grant programs.
  • Must have experience with project management, design, and planned production.
  • Must have experience with community projects and municipal/district/development authorities, with a focus on urban spaces and recreational facilities.
  • Experience in relationship development and proposal preparation.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent analytical/judgement capabilities, and ability to work independently or on a team
  • Ability to work remote and in person effectively

Traffic Engineer

With a growing team and expanding Design Services Department, ROWE Professional Services Company has an excellent opportunity for a Traffic Engineer to join our team at any one of our Michigan and/or South Carolina offices.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

Traffic Engineers work on teams with Project Managers, working in a group environment on a diverse range of large- and small-scale projects. Providing creative leadership to a wide range of staff with varied experience. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintenance of traffic, signing, pavement marking plans for the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) and local clients.
  • Traffic impact studies, crash analysis, safety studies, signal optimization, and traffic forecasting for public and private clients.
  • Intersection and corridor traffic modeling, including modeling roundabouts.
  • Traffic signal warrant analysis, design, and operations analysis
  • Report Writing
  • Assist Project Managers present at public and client meetings
  • Cross-functional collaboratoin

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s in civil/environmental engineering
  • Minimum of 4 years of related traffic engineering experience
  • Michigan Professional Engineer License
  • PTOE license a plus
  • Knowledge of traffic engineering fundamentals and industry trends
  • Traffic signal design experience
  • Experience with SYNCHRO/SimTraffic, PTV VISUM, PTV VISTRO, and Rodel preferred
  • Experience working with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
  • Experience with ITE Trip Generation Manual and traffic studies
  • Knowledge of MDOT traffic standards and guidelines
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent analytical/judgement capabilities, and ability to work independently or on a team
  • Ability to work remote and in person effectively
