Roadway Senior Project Engineer

With a growing team and expanding Design Services Department, ROWE Professional Services Company has an excellent opportunity for a Senior Project Engineer, within in our Transportation group, to join our team at any one of our Michigan offices.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

Senior Project Engineers work on teams with Project Managers, working in a group environment on a diverse range of large- and small-scale projects. Providing creative leadership to a wide range of staff with varied experience. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Function as task leader on various transportation engineering projects.
  • Directing and performing engineering tasks, providing quality control, and production of project deliverables, primarily for State and County transportation clients.
  • Managing project teams, schedules, and budgets for various projects.
  • Assist in developing and executing work plans for completing assigned tasks and projects.
  • Apply specialized technical expertise on a broad range of design tasks relating to transportation projects.
  • Assist the Senior Project Manager, or Project Manager, in developing work scopes, budgets, and staff assignments.
  • Maintain project records and documentation.
  • Maintain current knowledge of MDOT design technology, practices, and procedures.
  • Interact with other engineering disciplines (internal and external) and incorporate their work products.
  • Provide direction, supervision, and training to junior staff.
  • Cross-functional collaboration

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s in civil/environmental engineering
  • Michigan Professional Engineer License
  • Minimum of 7 years of MDOT design experience
  • Proficient in MicroStation and OpenRoads
  • Experience in using Civil 3D a plus
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent analytical/judgement capabilities, and ability to work independently or on a team
  • Ability to work remote and in person effectively

Position Summary

ROWE is currently looking for a Graduate Planner to join our Flint, MI office. This position will play an important role in growing our Planning Department team. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Updating/drafting a variety of community plans in areas such as land use, parks and recreation, zoning, and downtown development.
  • Providing support during public engagement in all phases of Master Plan development.
  • Assisting with municipal clients in zoning administration and compliance.
  • Reviewing development applications for consistency with zoning ordinance standards.
  • Presenting reports and draft plans to public bodies, with support from more senior staff.
  • Research and report writing.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Urban or Regional Planning or an equivalent field of study.
  • Experience with Arc Map or Arc Pro.
  • Strong communication and writing skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent analytical/judgement capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and on a team.
  • Ability to work remote and in person effectively.

ROWE Professional Services Company has excellent opportunities for Survey Crew Chief’s to join our growing team and expanding Survey Department at any of our Michigan and South Carolina offices.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

Survey Crew Chiefs research previous survey evidence maps, deeds, physical evidence, and other records to obtain data for determining precise location and measurements of point elevations, lines, areas and contours for construction, map making, land division, titles, and/or other purposes. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Extensive field work in all weather conditions and varying types of physical environments
  • Determining methods and procedures for establishing/reestablishing survey control
  • Keeping accurate notes, records, and sketches to describe and certify work performed
  • Operating GPS and Robotic Total Stations
  • Managing project field tasks and team members
  • Maintaining equipment and survey vehicle

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent with a strong aptitude for math
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience performing survey field work
  • Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, robotic instruments and GPS, preferred
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent analytical/judgement capabilities, and ability to work independently or on a team

Position Summary

ROWE is currently looking for Graduate Surveyors to join any of our Michigan and/or South Carolina offices. This position will play a big role in growing our Surveying Services and/or Geospatial services team. Graduate Surveyors work under the supervision of a license Survey Project Manager. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • You will work under the supervision of a licensed Survey Project Manager
  • Perform field and/or office survey tasks such as construction staking, boundary and alignment retracement, ALTA and topographic surveys.
  • Assist with the planning, field data capture, processing and compilation of remote sensing data including stationary, mobile and UAV LiDAR sensors and cameras.
  • Work with the latest software programs to complete calculations, CAD deliverables, GPS processing LIDAR extraction and modeling.
  • Produce detailed survey drawings and reports.
  • Cross-functional collaboration

Job Requirements

We are seeking forward-thinking, safety-conscious, and energetic individuals who are excited to work on both small-scale and large-scale projects. Qualifications required include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in surveying engineering
  • SIT certification preferred
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation is a plus

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent analytical/judgement capabilities, and ability to work independently or on a team
